Our Client, a 32 year old woman, received £9,000 in compensation from a laser therapist, who scarred her face.

The Mother of 3 sustained scarring to her face in July 2005 when laser therapist’s employee administered laser treatment at far too high a level at her beauty clinic.

Our Client said “I was so shocked after my treatment. My face looked awful. My children were scared to come near me and people made lots of horrible comments.”

The laser therapist initially refused to acknowledge the claim. John Pickering and Partners LLP, issued court proceedings against her and the laser therapist was forced to deal with the claim, admit liability and settle the claim for our Client’s physical and psychological injuries.

“I couldn’t have done this without the support of my solicitors. At one stage I thought she would get away with causing my family and I all this trauma. I am so glad my solicitors kept the pressure on the laser therapist.”

Our Client’s compensation will help pay for camouflage makeup to cover the scars and psychological therapy. Her Solicitor, Fozia Hussain said “Many therapists are carrying out laser treatment without having received proper training, therefore negligently. Some therapists are carrying out forms of laser therapy without being properly registered with the Healthcare Commission. The injuries following treatment can be severe. A lot of women are too embarrassed to come forward and are unaware of their right to compensation.”
