  • 1,900 people die from mesothelioma each year in the UK

  • 95,000 people will die from mesothelioma by 2050 in the UK

  • 250,000 people will die from mesothelioma in Western Europe by 2035

In the Merseyside area between 1981 and 2000 there were over 600 deaths from mesothelioma.

Research shows that the peak in mortality will come between 2011 and 2015, the highest number of deaths per year being between 1,950 - 2450
